19 arrested at mall following Mindless Behavior concert

The 19 arrested at a mall in Chicago, Ill. following a Mindless Behavior concert on Sat., Feb. 23, 2013 were charged primarily with misdemeanor mob action. One 16-year-old suspect was reportedly charged with the crime of battery of a mall security guard who was attempting to evacuate the mall, according to a report by Christian Science Monitor.

The disturbance broke out approximately 45 minutes after the musical act Mindless Behavior performed at the Ford City Mall over the weekend. However, the general manager of the mall confirmed that the disturbance was unrelated to the group's performance. The 19 arrested at the mall comprised both male and female teens between the ages of 13 to 18.

The incident involved a large group of teens, including the 19 arrested at the mall, who began behaving in a rowdy manner within the Ford City Mall. The ruckus spilled out into the parking lot where teens were seen climbing atop the mall patrons' cars. Two people were injured in the incident, and the entire mall was shut down while police sorted things out.
