180 mph for $10k or 200 mph for $70k?

Most people are surprised to know that $10,000 can rocket a driver to 180 mph in a Camaro or Trans Am. For $70,000 you can ride in a Corvette Z06 up to 200 mph. This is one bad Corvette, and it's capable of running speeds as high as 200 mph in a very short time! The Camaro or Trans AM can be unleashed with a cam upgrade and basic bolt ons. The scary part, is that both vehicles achieve these high speeds in minimal time.

Watching the video below, you can see what it feels like to ride in a Corvette Z06 from sixty to two hundred miles per hour on the interstate! The camera is a little shaky and out of focus, but can you blame him? This is one powerful Corvette! Let's check out the specifications below!

But first, take a look at a passing Corvette Z06 going 200 mph!

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has a high potential for making power. The V8 used in these vehicles and other LS series autos can generate anywhere from 400 to 900 hp by doing modifications any shade tree mechanic can accomplish. Creating power with a Chevy small block is easy! The more air you force through the motor, the more power it will generate. Twin turbo applications for these engines can either be placed near the motor or as far back as in the trunk like what's found in Camaro and Firebird models. Even older model LS1 and LT1 engines are capable of speeds around 180 mph when properly geared with appropriate modifications.

Check out this top speed video of the older LS1 and LT1 motors that can be purchased for under $10,000! It's amazing what kind of performance can be generated out of "used cars".
