Update 8/24/14: Loba was adopted - she is safe!
A beautiful German shepherd has made it to an impressive 17-years of age...unfortunately, she is currently not enjoying the twilight of her life in the comfort of a home.
According to the Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, the elderly dog lost her home and family when she was surrendered to the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Carson, Calif., on August 18.
The following information was written about the surrendered senior whose name is "Loba":
My former family who owned me for more than 5 years had to give me up because they couldn't afford the care I need. But they said that I spend most of my time outdoors, but it's not ideal. I seem to be good with small children. I have not been housetrained. I am good on a leash. I may need obedience class. I seem to get along well with dogs.
Judging by the provided information, Loba has not fully enjoyed the comforts associated with the life of an indoor dog - given her advanced age, an indoor situation would be preferable for her aged body, which undoubtedly has the aches and pains that come with getting older.
Please take a moment to network this elderly girl's information.
