15th Annual Bite of Las Vegas at Desert Breeze Park

Mix 94.1’s 15th Annual Bite of Las Vegas returns to Desert Breeze Park Saturday, October 15th, with a Super Star Studded line up of Mix artists! Entry is only $9 at the door with a $1 discount to those who bring in a canned food item to donate to City Mission of Las Vegas. Kids ages 5 and under are welcome in for free!

Headlining the event’s line up is Of A Revolution, better known as O.A.R. They are famous for great hits such as “Heard the World” and “Lay Down” and their latest hit off of their new album King, “Heaven”. I have yet to see this band perform live and I honestly cannot wait!

Joining them will be the beautiful (Yes, I’ve noticed!), appearance and talent wise, Miss Colbie Caillat. She took the world by storm with her cheery hit, “Bubbly” and succeeded that with hits such as “Realize”, “Fallin’ For You” and the duet with Jason Mraz (in which I refer to her as the female version of Mr. A-Z) “Lucky”. Her third studio LP, All of You, features…well…bubbly tracks such as “I Do” and “Brighter than the Sun.” As you can tell, she will be my main event of the night as I am a huge fan! And an interesting tidbit I learned about her is that she tried out for American Idol and didn’t even make the cut to audition for the judges! Really?! (Well, she did chalk it up to nerves on her part as she performed “Bubbly” at the audition! Their loss!)

Then we add Michelle Branch to the Mix, who has been keeping our ears entertained via the KMXB airwaves with hits such as “Everywhere”, “Are You Happy Now” and the popular hit with the legendary Carlos Santana: “The Game of Love”. Her latest hit, “Loud Music”, has received a lot of air play (and I often catch myself singing it in my head at the most randomous occasions!) and comes off of her latest album; West Coast Time.

Last, and definitely not least, leads us into the cool, laid back sounds of Mr. Mat Kearney. He first captured our ears with his popular hit “Nothing Left to Lose”. I can still smell the pomegranates grow every time I listen to it! His song “Undeniable” totally threw me for a loop, as I thought he had a featured rapper appearing on the song with him, or he was singing the chorus on a rapper’s latest song, only to discover when I saw the video for the first time that he was the rapper! And let’s not forget hits like “Breathe In Breathe Out”, “Closer to Love” and his latest hit, dedicated to his wife who played hard to get when they first met: “Hey Mama”. With its rhythmic bass tones and catchy chorus, it makes me crank up my car stereo and sing along every time!

Joining this amazing line up will also be the sounds of The Cab, Imagine Dragons and 100 Monkeys, who are amazing in their own rights!

Let’s not forget about the Bite that brings Las Vegas residents in, and perhaps some out of town visitors. Dozens of local restaurants fill Desert Breeze Park with an abundance of aromas hovering the food varieties that I personally dare you to attempt trying every one! But if you can pull it off, it will definitely be worth it. The food line up hasn’t been named yet, but Mix 94.1 is just as successful in this category as they are with securing the entertainment. Visit their official Bite of Las Vegas section of their website for frequent updates.

To those of you that have read my Bite posts of the past, you know that I live for this event. It’s my way of saying good-bye to the hot summer days and realizing fall can be just as fun! Most people see the end of summer as the start of Halloween, Thanksgiving and then the December holidays. I see it as Bite of Las Vegas, Halloween, Thanksgiving then Christmas. Yes people…I have officially declared Bite of Las Vegas a holiday!
