Lately the weather in southern California has felt a lot like summer. If it stays that way for a while, it will be perfect for the 14th annual Newport Beach Jazz Party. On Valentine's and Presidents Weekend, February 13 - 16, 2014, Newport Beach will be rocking. It has been described as 4 nights and 3 days of the best jazz party on the planet and is presented by the Jazz Cruise. The location will be the Marriott Newport Beach Hotel & Spa. There will be many of the top musicians in jazz including: Kenny Burrell, Bruce Forman, Scott Hamilton, Houston Person, Ricky Woodard, Chuck Redd, Eric Reed, Luther Hughes, Butch Miller, Ernie Andrews, Jackie Ryan and more.
Some of the featured acts over the four days will be: the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Ernie Andrews & Barbara Morrison in the L.A. Treasures Project, Byron Stripling & His Big Band...An Evening of Gershwin, Cole Porter & the Duke, Frank Capp Juggernaut with special guest Denise Donatelli, Jeff Hamilton Trio with Tamir Hendelman & Christopher Luty, Dena DeRose Trio and more.
The party gets under way on Thursday, February 13 at 5:30 pm at Sam & Harry's in the Marriott and ends at 11:20 pm at the Grand Pacific Ballroom. On Friday, February 14 which is Valentine's Day starts at 10:00 am in the Pacific Ballroom then goes to the pool at 12 noon and then moves to the Newport Coast Ballroom at 5pm for the Valentine's Jazz dinner. The party moves to the Grand Pacific Ballroom from 7pm to 11:00 pm and then on to the Newport Coast Ballroom from 11 pm to midnight.
