There are a few golden rules that come to mind when posting on social media sites, like: “don’t drink and facebook”; and, if you get away with a crime – don’t post it as your status update. It’s apparent that no one ever shared those netiquette tips with one 14-year-old Gresham, OR boy who critically injured another driver in a hit-and-run crash – and then posted on his facebook page "somehow the police haven't found me yet".
Oregon police credit that status update with being able to apprehend the 14-year-old.
According to ktvb.com, after the posting, police tracked the boy down to Sam Barlow High School in Gresham, OR.
Police believe the boy stole a van from a tree farm and then drove it onto the highway east of Gresham.
The van sideswiped an SUV late Tuesday afternoon and then rolled.
The boy, whose name will not be released since he is a juvenile, was arrested late Wednesday. ~ ktvb
The boy was booked into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Facility for felony hit-and-run and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
