14 Year Old Charged With Killing 7 Month Old Sister

On Friday around 6:40am members of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the 11600 block of Lockwood Drive in White Oak where they found 7 month old Larissa Yanes not breathing. The toddler was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival at about 6:54am.

According to published documents, the child's mother 39 year old Gloria Yanes left for work around 10:30pm to work the overnight shift at her job and left her daughter in the care of her son 14 year old Johnathan Aguiluc.

When questioned by police, the teen admitted to beating the toddler causing her to cry. He told investigators that when she wouldn't stop crying he put his hands over her nose and mouth area until she did.

Once she stopped crying he placed her in her car seat in the apartment where she stayed until her mother came home around 5:30am.

Thinking her baby was asleep, her mother didn't notice she wasn't breathing until she tried to feed her 30 minutes later.

Charged as an adult with first degree murder, Johnathan is being held without bail at the Montgomery County Detention Center in Rockville and is scheduled to have a bond review Monday at 1pm.

In the state of Maryland 14 is the youngest age a person can be charged as an adult in violent or sex crimes.
