A 14-pound baby born in a Pennsylvania hospital is the new record holder for the biggest baby delivered at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Practitioners at this Kittanning hospital claim this is the biggest baby they’ve ever come across, according to 14UNews on Dec. 24.

Doctors were expecting the baby to weigh in at about 11 pounds, but when they performed the C-section and saw the sheer size of this little girl, they were surprised. Addyson Gale Cessna was born 25” in length and weighed 13-pounds, 12 ounces.

The Guinness Book of World Records reports the heaviest baby ever born came into the world back in 1879. The baby weighed 24 pounds, but the infant died 11 hours after birth. Diabetes or a hormonal condition of the mother have resulted in the birth of heavy babies.

The mother of baby Addyson, Michele, is reporting having the feeling of “purest bliss” as she and her new baby left the hospital for home. Both mother and daughter are fined. Michele and her husband already have twin boys at home, so this big bundle of joy will have two older brothers.
