14 injured and bus driver killed in a bus accident involving the Seton Hill team (Photos)

In a developing story, there was a bus crash involving a college lacrosse team.

The authorities said the tour bus, which was carrying the lacrosse team, went off of the freeway in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and crashed into a tree. In the accident, the driver has been pronounced dead, while there were 14 injuries, with some being seriously injured.

The bus was carrying 23 Seton Hill lacrosse players and three coaches, according to Pennsylvania Turnpike spokeswoman Renee Colborn, when the accident happened. The accident happened at around 9 am on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Three of the 14 that were injured had to be flown to local hospitals by helicopters. The others would be transported via an ambulance to hospitals.

The bus was reportedly upright on the side of the road when police arrived. Parts of its left side were torn off, but it is not clear if it was from the impact or the rescue with first responders cutting it off.

This accident involved the Griffins women’s lacrosse team, as they had a 1 pm game scheduled at Millersville University in Millersville, PA. Millersville has already canceled the game, as the concern is with those that were injured.

The Griffins are 3-1 on the season. And they have won their past two games, before this accident that could affect them long-term this season.

Seton Hill is located in Greensburg, PA, which is near the Pittsburgh area. According to the Associated Press, there is about 2,500 that attends this small Catholic school.
