13th Commanderie du Bontemps celebrates its Fête de la Fleur June 20

So excited! The Commanderie du Bontemps will celebrate its Fête de la Fleur as Vinexpo Bordeaux closes on Thursday 20 June at Château Lagrange.

I was there two yeas ago for the Fete and it was such a fabulous evening! I sat at a fabulous table with some of my favorite producers ... interestingly I had stayed at their various Chateaux during En Primeur!

Everyone who was 'anyone' in Bordeaux was there, including St. Julian Producers Philippe Blanc of Chateau Beycheville and Lillian Barton Satorius of Chateau Leoville Barton. This pair recently came to New York to show their St. Julian wines to New York's Wine Media Guild, of which I am VP Programming and Organize the wine tasting lunches.

I have also been to Chateau Lagrange many times as a Master of Wine student ... Mr. Eynard was most kind and welcoming to our group of first year students.

So this year, the big news is that is that the Fete will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Chateau Lagrange's purchase by the Japanese Group Suntory, one of the leading wine and spirits distributors worldwide. This thirtieth anniversary is also yet another reminder of the Japanese Group’s attachment to the values of Bordeaux and its commitment to the very long term.
