The 138th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The competition was televised on USA Network on Mon., Feb. 10, 2014 and will continue to the conclusion on Tues., Feb. 11. 2014. Attached are photos of several dogs being shown at the prestigious canine competition.

Update: Sky the Wire Haired Terrier wins Best in Show at 138th WKC

The televised coverage included the highlights of the competition. The live daytime judging of all 187 breeds and varieties can be accessed online or on mobile devices at WKCLive.com. A total of 2,845 dogs and 91 Junior Showmanship competitors were entered for this year's show, representing 49 states and 13 foreign countries

Three new breeds are being officially recognized by the American Kennel Club and debuting this year. The playful Rat Terrier joins the Terrier Group; the intelligent Portuguese Podengo Pequeno joins the Hound Group; and the athletic Chinook, the official state dog of New Hampshire, joins the Working Group.

Monday evening’s competition included Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding groups.The winner of the Hound group was a bloodhound named Nathan. Coco the Cardigan Welsh corgi won the herding group category. Ally the standard poodle took the title for the Non-Sporting group. Cassie the miniature pinscher, also know as min pin, was judged best of the toy group.

Tuesday’s judging will consist of Sporting, Working and Terrier groups. Monday night's winners then join Tuesday's winners in the ring for the 2014 crowning of Best In Show, which will air live on USA Network.

Betty Regina Leininger of Frisco, Texas, heads a panel of 44 judges from 20 states, Canada and Ireland to judge this year’s Best In Show. David Frei is co-hosting joins the show for his 25th consecutive year.

Purina Pro Plan is the presenting sponsor of the show for a third consecutive year. During the broadcast, the brand airs its recently released TV ads, called “Dreams,” which demonstrate dogs dreaming about performing amazing feats and state, “If your dog can dream it, Purina Pro Plan can help him achieve it.”

Judging is filmed by fixed and roaming cameras that will showcase the in-the-ring and out-of-the-ring action. USA’s WKC homepage features the Social Buzz Dashboard, which allows fans to join the conversation and chat live about the event.
