The Humane Society of Missouri is rescuing 135 puppies and adult dogs from a dog breeding facility in Howell County, Mo.

HSMO's Animal Cruelty Task Force is working with the Missouri Department of Agriculture to take custody of the dogs and puppies, which include Beagles, Boston Terriers, Cocker Spaniels, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Miniature Poodles, Miniature Schnauzers, Shih Tzus, Yorkshire Terriers, and mixes.

The dogs will be taken to HSMO's headquarters in St. Louis for examinations and necessary treatment.

A spokesperson for HSMO says the owner is closing the facility and agreed to hand the dogs over.

Before the dogs are put up for adoption they will be spayed or neutered. The dogs will be listed on HSMO's website as they become available for adoption.
