13-year-old commits to play hockey at the University of Maine

Oliver Wahlstrom is not eligible to start college until the fall of 2019.

Wahlstrom has already decided where he will attend college and play hockey, five and a half years from now.

Wahlstrom who just started seventh grade this past fall has committed to the University of Maine.

Wahlstrom will not turn 14 until June 13th. He is the youngest player ever to commit to a NCAA college hockey program.

In 2012, he was named as the second most talented kid in sports by Bleacher Report.

Wahlstrom attends North Yarmouth Academy and has recorded three goals and six assists in 10 games this season.

Oliver's father, Joakim Wahlstrom played professional hockey in Sweden.
