13 people were shot at a Chicago park last night on the city's southwest side. This includes a 3-year-old boy, who is now in critical condition from this drive-by shooting, according to the Associated Press on Sept. 20.
Witnesses say that around 10 p.m. on Thursday night two men with dreadlocks fired at people from a gray sedan as they rode through Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood, heading toward Cornell Square. Julian Harris told the media that a bullet just missed him, but his 3-year-old nephew was shot in the cheek. The toddler is in critical condition.
Police believe the shooting was gang-related, but they have not made any arrests in this case. The toddler is one of a few people listed in critical condition. Officer Amina Greer said "It's an ongoing investigation." A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old are also among the injured, but their conditions are not known at this time.
