13 hurt in D.C. shooting was a headline that had thousands of people talking. The D.C. shooting occurred just after 2 a.m. on March 11. A gunman opened fire while driving down a street in northwest Washington, randomly taking aim at people standing outside of an apartment building. According to ABC News, people standing on the sidewalk tried to take cover as bullets were flying.
Thirteen people were hit in the shooting and one of those people was critically injured after being shot in the back. It is unknown if he is expected to be okay. The rest of the injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
The 13 hurt in this D.C. shooting may have left the club across the street, which reportedly let out just minutes before. It seems as though these people were all in the wrong place at the wrong time. As of now, police are still investigating but the shooting does seem to be random. As of now, police still don't have a motive. The shooter remains at large as police try to collect evidence to piece together what exactly happened.
Making things a little easier for D.C. police investigating the shooting, the incident was caught on video surveillance.
The 13 hurt in the D.C. shooting are just the latest victims in the increasing tragedies involving gun violence.
