13 Goals of a Witch

Although the ‘13 Goals of a Witch’ is not an old or sacred document, it is packed full of good information and things that most Pagans of all paths work towards. It is more of Wiccan document but it could really be used by any of the Pagan traditions and really for anyone of any religion. The goals seem to originate from Scott Cunningham’s book ‘Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner’ which was published in 1988. These goals are listed below.

1. Know yourself.

2. Know your craft.

3. Learn and grow.

4. Apply knowledge with wisdom.

5. Achieve balance.

6. Keep your words in good order.

7. Keep your thoughts in good order.

8. Celebrate life.

9. Attune with the cycles of earth.

10. Breathe and eat correctly.

11. Exercise the body.

12. Meditate.

13. Honor the Goddess and God.

The goals are really more of a way of life that leads you to study, knowledge, faith, health, wellbeing and so on. These are things that all of us from all religious backgrounds need. Truly the goals are a way to lead us to a healthy and happy life style. This list of goals has been shared through out the Wiccan path’s and some even have them printed out and framed on their walls. They really help define you and your religious path, no matter what that is.
