This morning I was out shooting sites around Astoria, and I went up to the Astoria Column to see what the view was like. There were a number of people in the top of the column, and families and friends taking in the view, catching paper airplanes sailing from the top of the tower, and looking out at the views. One couple seemed cozier than the others, and I offered to take a few shots standing in front of the column and then with the backdrop of Young's Bay and River behind them. I then asked if they would mind if I took their photograph, explaining that I wrote a column for Astoria Faces and Places. Bonnie and Ron then shared with me that they were newlyweds, enjoying their time together on a trip from their home in Beaverton. The light in their eyes hold the promise of a loving and happy marriage.
