13.2 to be announced, and recent change in competitors

Tonight, March 13, 5 p.m. PT, 13.2, the second qualifying workout in the 2013 CrossFit Open will be announced from CrossFit South Brooklyn. Originally scheduled to compete the newly announced 13.2 was Annie Thorisdottir and Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, but as of just a few hours ago, it was announced that Lindsey Valenzuela will be competing against two-time champion, Iceland Annie, in tonight’s head-to-head competition.

Following the metabolic intrusion of Burpees and Snatches, which defined 13.1, many of us anxiously await the announcement of 13.2, even if our excitement is at least one part dread. Annie Thorisdottir was recently asked what she anticipated for 13.2, and she answered: “I'm not saying anything because Dave Castro never gives me what I want.” While even the best of us can never count on CrossFit HQ to give us what we want, we can certainly depend on them to not disappoint. 13.2 should be no exception.

Tune in tonight, 5 p.m. PT to the 2013 CrossFit Games site to watch the highly anticipated announcement of 13.2 and witness the competition between reigning champion, Annie Thorisdottir, and Lindsey Valenzuela.
