The leaderboard, which has enjoyed a few days of quiet rest, is now again in motion with the recent announcement of 13.2. Broadcast live from CrossFit South Brooklyn, Dave Castro announced the following workout as the second task for athletes competing in the 2013 CrossFit Open:
AMRAP in 10 Minutes
- 5 Shoulder to Overhead (115/75)
- 10 Deadlift (115/75)
- 15 Box Jumps (24/20)
(* Men’s/Women’s lifting requirement, and box height)
13.2 was announced today, at 5 p.m. PT, and athletes have from today, Wednesday, March 13, until Sunday, March 17 to complete the workout and submit their video.
Following the much anticipated announcement, 2-time reigning champion, Annie Thorisdottir, and Lindsey Valenzuela went head to head in a competition featuring 13.2. In case you missed the live stream, you can still watch the competition at the 2013 CrossFit Games website.
Many stories and rumors have spread as to why Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, who was originally slated to compete against Iceland Annie, was unable to compete, but according to her official Facebook page, she was unable to get her visa from Canada to enter the United States until this morning, and she did not want to take a chance on the competition being forfeited, so she left it up to CrossFit HQ to select another competitor.
