Beginning August 7 and lasting through August 10, 2014 will be the time to go treasure hunting at the World's Longest Yard Sale. Called the World's Longest Yard Sale, it follows Highway 127 starting North of Addison, Michigan all the way through 5 states and ends up at Gadsden, Alabama. It includes the states of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
This big yard sale is over 690 miles long and starts the first Thurs of Aug and runs all weekend. It attracts people from all over the country. There are no set times for the opening and closing of the sales, some people like to start early in the morning and locals come when they get off work. So the sale lasts all day on each of the four days.
There are some areas on the scenic 127 Corridor that will be filled with lots of vendors such as church parking lots and many small business owners will have their parking lots full of vendors. Other times along the Corridor they will be individual yard sales. You never have to travel far to see the next yard sale.
Lots of goodies and bargains will be waiting to be found. It is reported that over 5000 yard sales are set-up. There will also be food vendors selling all those delicious favorites such as giant breaded tenderloins and Elephant Ears, the local restaurants along the route will be serving specials. There will be something for everyone.
