125 mph, no brakes: 150-mile ride frightened driver

A car drove 125 mph with no brakes due to some kind of malfunction. On Feb. 14, The Mirror UK reported that a disabled man, Frank Lecerf, 36, was driving his "specially-adapted Renault Laguna" in northern France when something went terribly wrong. Lecerf's car accelerated on its own, taking him on a 150-mile trip at speeds of 125mph and this continued until he ran out of gas.

"Without him putting any pressure on the accelerator, its speed slowly started to increase – and Mr. Lecerf could do nothing at all about it. Soon the car had reached a terrifying speed of 125mph and Mr. Lecerf began suffering health problems as he swerved in and out of traffic and through three toll booths," The Mirror UK reported.

Going 125 mph with no brakes is very frightening. Lecerf couldn't slow the car down, never mind stop it so he just did his best to get through traffic. Fortunately (and some say miraculously), Lecerf did not hit any thing or any one. His car took him across the countries border and in to Belgium where it crashing into a ditch at Alveringem.

Lecerf was not seriously injured in the crash, but the drive was certainly enough to shake him up -- and make him angry. According to the report, Lecerf has filed a formal complaint with the car company, accusing them of "endangering a person's life." It is unknown whether or not he plans to file a lawsuit.

Can you imagine driving 125 mph with no brakes?
