12 year old Ily Alfred donated one of her paintings for the purpose of raising money for the Southwestern College Aquatic Center. Valued at $400.00, she felt that the painting would raise some revenues so that other kids could enjoy the center's activities. Ily, a member of, "The Art Kids of San Diego County," is already a professional artist as she sells her paintings and has her own business as an artist. She is a professional face painter.

Not only does she work on faces but she paints canvases and murals. At her age she paints on a college graduate's level and then some. Her work has been seen at the Superior Court in Chula Vista, Harbor days, The Cultural museum in Bonita and at many art events throughout the year. She is the only seventh grader to work on her school's yearbook and won the art contest for the privilege of having her design on this year's school yearbook.

Ily is also an excellent photographer and will be entering two of her photos at this year's county fair. For the last two year she has won 10 blue ribbons at the fair for both her photography and art. She is also being published in the popular art book, "Celebrating Art," coming out in September of this year. She has a very promising career in the field of art and her paintings seem to elevate in price as she gets older and much better at her talent.
