12-Month Xbox LIVE 'Day One Edition' card plus others discounted to $40

This week kicked off another round of the 12-month Xbox LIVE Card being made available at a $20 discount. However, the hard to find Day One Limited Edition Card that was released alongside the Xbox One popped up Tuesday at one retailer.

Walmart has the 12 Month Xbox Live Gold Membership - Limited Day One Edition with Bonus available for $39.96 with free shipping available. This is the black and silver version of the card that also comes with a code to unlock the Shadow Jago character skin for the free-to-play Killer Instinct on the Xbox One.

While that appears to be the only place to pick up the Day One Edition card, it isn't the only place to get the $20 discount on the 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription. Best Buy and the Microsoft Store both have the subscription card available for $39.99 with the latter offering the option to receive a code that can be redeemed immediately versus waiting on shipping.

An Xbox LIVE Gold subscription is needed to access online multiplayer on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One along with entertainment apps such as Hulu Plus and Netflix.
