The 12 Day of Gifts app in iTunes has released their free gift for the fifth day. This one isn’t an app or a game but a movie. “Hugo” will be free today to download, according to AppAdvice on Dec. 30.

“Hugo” is usually priced at $14.99, making this a really great deal. The movie can be downloaded for 24 hours at the free price.

“Hugo” is a movie based on the novel “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” by Caldecott Medal. “Hugo” is described on iTunes as the following:

“Welcome to a magical world of spectacular adventure! When wily and resourceful Hugo discovers a secret left by his father, he unlocks a mystery and embarks on a quest that will transform those around him and lead to a safe and loving place he can call home.”

Previous free gifts from the 12 Days of Gifts app were Justin Timberlake’s iTunes Festival EP, Tiny Thief, “Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2014,” and Toca House.

There are still seven days left in the 12 Days of Gifts app. “Hugo” is so far the highest priced gift that has been offered. The app is free on iTunes and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad that are running iOS 7.0 or later. You download the 12 Days of Gifts app here.
