With all the faux glow options that are on the market, the winter white skin that many New Yorkers don through the chilly season is more of a personal style choice than a default these days. Today, the real hurdle to get some healthy color in for the holiday party of the century is not trying to afford a mid-winter tropical get away. It's not risking looking like a pumpkin explosion. And, it's no longer even a health risk. Since tanning beds and baking in the sun are outmoded by the abundance of self-tanners and variety of body bronzers, the real dilemma is now which product to choose.
Emmy award winning makeup artist Melanie Mills personally resolved that problem during her work on Dancing with the Stars by creating her own product, Gleam Body Radiance. Body Radiance is an innovative and luxurious, aloe vera and jojoba oil infused, lotion to powder, cream-- safe for use on both face and body. The nutrients incorporated into Gleam makes it not only a makeup product but also great skincare. Plus, it is water and transfer resistant, making it possible to have all over, party perfect, radiant skin with out the fear of ruining an expensive party dress. Read, Gleam Body Radiance does not come off until washed off, but does, indeed, wash off: fantastic news for commitment wary, bronzed beauty today, Snow White tomorrow fashion types.
Pure genius. And beautiful to boot.
To spread her beauty know how, Melanie Mills recently released Glitter & Glam, a book brimming with beauty inspiration and makeup howtos. To gain more insight on the inner workings of this glamour goddess, Examiner had a chat with Ms. Mills about the holidays, glitter, and getting your glow on.
EXAMINER: What is your favorite holiday memory?
MELANIE: My great grandmother Nana would always have a huge Christmas eve party. The gifts would pour out, and my family would scream, and yell, and cook. My big daddy always made the best Shumai. Then we would go home, and my stepdad Stephan, would deck the family room out with a fire, Christmas music, and a train set for Christmas morning...Dreamy!
