April 30, 2013 brings to the Overland Park Convention Center the 11th Annual Central Exchange Leadership Lyceum.
The event, themed, Think Ahead -- Leading with smart strategy and accountability, will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features three nationally known speakers, including:
- Chris McChesney from FranklinCovey
- Arin Reeves from Nextions LLC
- Cy Wakeman from Cy Wakeman, Inc.
Event organizers bill this always-popular event as one where area leaders will "discover new ways of thinking and working that will empower you to achieve extraordinary results."
More specifically, at the Leadership Lyceum you’ll learn:
- How to accomplish strategic goals in the midst of daily whirlwind activities using the 4 disciplines of execution.
- To take your organization to the next level of intelligence by leading with inclusion and harnessing the power of multiple perspectives.
- To “ditch the drama” and become a reality-based thinker hardwiring accountability into your organization.
The event also includes informal and organized networking sessions designed to help attendees make relevant connections with more than 700 executives, managers, entrepreneurs and community leaders.
One of the featured speakers, Chris McChesney, Global Practice Leader of Execution at FranklinCovey will speak about:
- The 4 Disciples of Execution
McChesney has spent 20 years with FranklinCovey researching how organizations can reach their important goals. He found that often great strategy was derailed by the whirlwind of daily activities necessary to keep the organization running. Leaders needed a specific set of practices to define strategy and measure results. That proven, repeatable formula that any organization can adopt for executing their most important goals—while still handling the urgent daily tasks—is the 4 Disciplines of Execution, according to McChesney.
He has found that teams who execute well—who deliver on their most important goals—do four things very consistently:
- Their people know the organization’s goals
- They know what to do to achieve the goals
- They measure themselves on a compelling scoreboard
- There is clear accountability for results
McChesney also found that when teams implement the 4 Disciplines, other benefits follow: employees become more engaged and energized. McChesney’s presentation will demonstrate how you can define your organization’s important goals, determine the lead measures that impact those goals and create a cadence of accountability that will lead to superb results.
For more than a decade, McChesney has led the design and development of these principles, and has personally helped implement them in companies such as Marriott International, Quaker Oats and Comcast. Scores of entrepreneurs and small organizations have also seen success by adopting these disciplines.
McChesney is co-author of the Wall Street Journal #1 national best seller, The 4 Disciplines of Execution.
