It is the most intense culinary experience at Le 114 Faubourg. The food is the epitome of French cuisine. The heart of the place, however, is 114 Faubourg, a stylish bi-level restaurant with an open kitchen and walls covered in brightly colored depictions of dahlias.

It’s a look that, in the words of the hotel’s longtime general manager, Pierre Ferchaud, was conceived “not to promote the whims of the designer but to please the diner.” That task will be left up to the chef Eric Desbordes, who’s taken a simple, causal approach to French cooking — one that no doubt will suit the type of guests who seem to be flocking to the new wing.

Food & Drink

The food itself is quite amazing and reflects the latest techniques in french cuisine, using foreign styles and flavors.

Customer Service

The wait staff was amazing, professional and attentive without being at all pretentious or hovering over diners. Service was impeccable. The service from start to finish was relaxed, competent and with the sort of genuine warmth that only comes from happy, well trained staff.

Price Point

In U.S. currency, here are the average dining prices. For starters, prices range from $40 to $58. Fish courses are between $44 to $99 while meat courses range from $44 to $87. Dessert prices are about $22 to $27. A three-course meal, complete with wine, for two people will cost an average of $270.

Atmosphere

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the ambience just right for a fancy evening out - modern, luxurious but not stuffy. 114 Faubourg is a beautiful space. There are enormous dahlias on the wallpaper which are stunning. Atmosphere of prestige was everywhere. Diners are swiftly ushered to a spacious table in an elegant room. The hotel's delightful luxury brasserie is on two levels, each with a view of the other, which are connected by a majestic wrought-iron staircase.

Unique Traits

The decor of the restaurant is unique, the food was out of this world, the service was at its peak. The style is traditional high-end French cuisine, simple but with a modern touch. The restaurant received its first Michelin star in 2013.This achievement is attributed to the talents of Chef Eric Desbordes, mentored by Eric Frechon - Hôtel Le Bristol's Chef des Cuisines - and Laurent Jeannin, Hôtel Le Bristol's Pastry Chef, who was named Pastry Chef of the Year 2011 by his peers.

Additionally Patrice Jeanne, the charismatic director of the restaurant, and his team, create a warm, Parisian ambiance that makes Le 114 Faubourg the place to be for those looking for a brasserie de luxe in France's capital.

Tip #1: Consider ordering the specials. The restaurant offers lunch specials starting at $75.

Tip #2: If you are visiting Paris on Monday, consider attending Wine Mondays. In order to establish itself as a creative and lively gourmet restaurant, 114 Faubourg hosts wine appreciation evenings on the first Monday of each month. The wine grower, selected by Marco Pelletier, Head Sommelier at Le Bristol, presents their wine in person over a four-course tasting menu specially created for these occasions.

Tip #3: Ask your wait staff for their favorite appetizers, entrees and desserts, you won't regret their recommendations.
