Los Angeles teens and parents will enjoy one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations in the country as LA’s Chinatown kicks off the Year of the Dragon. There will be fun activities all weekend long, beginning with the parade on Saturday, January 28th.
The parade’s theme emphasizes ethnic diversity, Chinese Culture and exposure to Chinese-American businesses. Parade Grand Marshals are Disney's Mulan and Mushu and international bestselling author Lisa See. Honorary Grand Marshals include David Lee, Collin Lai and James B. Wong.
Spectators will enjoy hundreds of spectacular floats, decked out vintage cars, dancers, bands and martial arts performers as they parade down the heart of Chinatown.
The dragon, one of the 12 creatures that circulate through the Chinese calendar, symbolizes strength, luck and new beginnings.
