This tops the list on a parent's worst nightmare, but this one has a happy ending.
According to a report by ABC news, an 11 year old hid in a closet after his mom went for a jog when he heard intruders breaking into the house. When 911 responders arrived he was still hiding in the closet. This was smart thinking for a young man, and we no doubt credit his mother for advising him to hide in such situations. This is a reminder to all of us that these things happen, and as parents, it is our responsibility to instruct our children ahead of time what they should do.
