The Kroger store in Richmond has Manwich on sale this week. From now through Saturday, April 9 you can buy 10 15-ounce cans for just $10. That's a savings of around 50 cents per can so stock up now and save. Don't worry if your family doesn't like Sloppy Joe sandwiches because I have a list of 11 different things you can do with a can of Manwich – other than that traditional shirt-stainer sandwich.
- Add some mushrooms and use it as spaghetti sauce.
- Use it to top a meatloaf or a beef roast just before they're done cooking.
- Use it as a hot dog topping.
- Add browned grown beef and onions, along with some kidney beans for a quick, tasty chili.
- Now, serve your Manwich chili over spaghetti for a 4-way.
- Prepare as directed, spoon onto an open bun, top each half with a slice of cheese and some jalapenos, then broil until cheese is melted.
- Brown 1 lb. hamburger, some sliced potatoes, carrots and onions, then stir in the Manwich.
- Make Manwich tacos
- Substitute one pound ground turkey,shredded chicken or chicken wings.
Crock Pot Manwich Chicken Cacciatore
- 1 8-piece package of chicken pieces in crockpot
- 2 or 3 potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped green pepper
- 1 can mushrooms
- 1 can Manwich
- 1 cup chicken broth
Layer chicken, potatoes, onion, green pepper and mushrooms in crockpot. Cover with 1 can of Manwich. Pour 1 cup chicken broth around the sides. Cook on low heat for 4.5 – 5 hours or until chicken is tender.
Crockpot Manwich Cube Steaks
- 1 lb. Cube steaks
- 1 can mushrooms
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 can Manwich
- 1 cup beef broth
Layer all ingredients in crockpot and pour 1 cup beef broth around the sides. Cook on low heat for 4.5 – 5 hours or until beef is tender.
