With no perfect games to report, three impressive 11-in-a-row feats highlight this week's Examiner.com report on high scores from area bowling league play.
Dan Bussard had the closest near-miss to perfection when he posted a 299 game in the middle of a 757 series in the Broad Street Bar & Grill Mixed League at Treasure Lanes in Port Charlotte.
Competing in the Midseason Mixed League at Englewood Bowl, George Newman fired a 106-over-average 298 game to complete a 682 series, and Jesse Hawver finished with 11 consecutive strikes in the middle game of a 759 series in the JDB International Mixed League at AMF Gulf Gate.
On the distaff side, Jennifer Peacock blasted games of 198, 279 and 243 en route to a 720 series, increasing her average to 212 in the Beef O'Brady's/Parquette Insurance League at Treasure Lanes.
Far-over-average series reported
The farthest-over-average performance of the week was turned in by Alan Monacelli, who posted a 202-over 779 series on games of 280, 264 and 235 in the Broad Street Bar & Grill League at Treasure Lanes.
Two participants in the Al Davis Memorial League at Bowland Port Charlotte were far over average this week. Matt White rolled a 163-over 769 series that included a 277 game, and Roger White had a 144-over 693 series.
In addition, Bob Susa rolled a 188-over-average 725 series that included a 278 game in the Coffee Club Mixed League at AMF Venice, and Brian Johnson had a 146-over 716 series highlighted by a 266 game in the Spectrum Dental Lab Mixed League at Sarasota Lanes.
