One of the strongest, longest lasting, and immediate bonds built comes from the ones established with your family. From there, it provides the foundation for having relationships with others, including friends, associates, business partners, and others.

Today, February 6th, through Saturday, February 8th, another "Phamily" is taking time to celebrate its 10th year of getting together. Ranging from networking opportunities, mature adult outings, and support of community-based components, the Phamily is extending an invitation to its brethren of the Black Greek Letter Organizational community, friends, and associates.

The Alumni Phirst-Pham Atlanta Reunion Weekend celebrates a decade of providing creative and productive programming for its members (members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.), but the aforementioned communities. Today starts with a networking mixer at Venue starting at 6pm. The business to business-casual attired affair provides professionals from multiple demographics the opportunity to forge business and community relationships with other like-minded individuals, complete with food and beverage specials.

As the weekend continues, the organization is lending support to its Marietta-based graduate chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for its Casino Night affair. Taking place on Friday, February 7th, from 7-11pm at the Vinings Club, the "after-7" attired event (no jeans, sneakers, or athletic gear) provides a mature evening affair for all. Proceeds from the event are supporting the graduate chapter's community-based initiatives for its servicing area.

Saturday, February 8th, provides a way to enjoy an evening out on the town, as well as a day of service.. Some members are taking time to immerse themselves in community projects, including participation in the LEAD Foundation's "College 101" program that morning (from 9:30am-12pm). During the evening, all are invited to enjoy some live music and additional programming at Suite Food Lounge. With a live band (at 9pm) and a DJ/dancing afterward, it provides a sound way for concluding the weekend.

"We are making sure to provide opportunities for our organization members, as well as our guests, creative ways of forging positive relationships and building our bonds with each other", notes lead coordinator Calvin Whitaker. Through the efforts of the host committee, comprised of members from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Whitaker, Mike Jones, Rickie Frazier, Brian Dawson, Andrew Snorton, Chad Huliet, Ryan Hill, and Carlos Neal) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Bridgette Grant, Dacia Upkins, and Nikki Lemmons), the weekend is shaping up to be a sound weekend for all.

For additional details, attendees are encouraged to contact the committee via email (AlumniPhirstPhamATL@gmail.com) or phone (214-470-0916). Likewise, through the social media platforms of Twitter (@AlumPhirstPham) and Instagram (AlumPhirstPhamATLWknd), up to the minute updates are provided for all happenings.

Phamily clearly is being put First.
