Dresses are made from different materials. Some made out of cotton, other polyester and rayon blend. How about paper? Join Art Director’s Club of Denver (ADCD), 50 creative designers and curious Denverites at the 10th Annual Paper Fashion Show this Friday at 6 pm at the beautiful Seawell Grand Ballroom, at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

The Paper Fashion Show in Denver is the largest such event in the world. Guests will witness the sheer beauty made out of paper and a creative mind. “Denver is really emerging as a fashion and design engine,” said Shannon Gray, ADCD Digital Chair. “We look forward to another wonderful evening of wearable art in motion."

The competition will be judge by members of the Denver Fashion community, including Brandi Shigley of Fashion Denver, Craig Hanson of American Crew, and Justice Kwesi Kwarteng of The JTA Group.

This year, there are new judging categories that will replace the traditions 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards. The judging categories are Star Student, Over the Top Accessory, Just for Giggles, That’s Made of Paper?! and DAVA (Downtown Aurora Visual Arts) Favorite. The designers create the garments and accessories with paper donated by xpedx.

The Paper Fashion Show has raised over $30,000 thus far to benefit Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA). The nonprofit fashion show not only raises funds but always awareness for DAVA, which provides art education programming for youth ages 3-17 in a high-risk urban community.

Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased at http://www.adcd.com/paper-fashion-show.
