The 10th annual Old Town Salsa Fiesta is returning to Albuquerque on September 13. This is an event to celebrate salsa in all its forms, from the snack food to music and dancing. The event itself is free and participants can look forward to live salsa music by local bands on 4 stages and the chance to dance the night away. Charanga del Valle Salsa Band will be headlining the music on stage. There are also vendors and food for sale as well as a free climbing wall and face painting for the kids.

Additionally, there is a salsa making contest where 40 local cooks will each whip up a batch of their famous salsa to get judged and possibly win. There is a $5 fee to participate in the salsa tasting contest. The salsa preparation begins at noon, tasting and judging is 2:30-5:00 and the winner will be announced at 5:30. The whole event continues until 7:00 pm. The Old Town Salsa Fiesta will take place in the plaza of Historic Old Town located at 303 Romero Street NW in Albuquerque, NM 87104.
