You would expect a 107-year-old man to die sometime in the near future, it’s the law of averages, but you wouldn’t expect that he’d die in a shootout. The 107-year-old man was at the mercy of a SWAT Team in Pine Bluff, Arkansas after he barricaded himself in his home and refused to come out.
According to CNN News on Sept. 8, negotiations failed and the very elderly man started shooting first. Monroe Isadore died after the police were called to the Jefferson County home to investigate a disturbance. On scene, they located two victims of the assault. The victims were led to safety, but inside the home remained the 107-year-old man with his gun. It is not clear what the assault was or how the victims fit in, but it was enough to have police called.
When officers approached the elderly man fired at them, causing the police to retreat. This is when the SWAT Team was called in. When the SWAT Team approached the home, the man was baracaded in his bedroom. He fired at the SWAT Team as well.
The SWAT Team returned the gunfire and the elderly man was hit. He died at the hospital later from his wounds in the shootout. An autopsy will confirm the cause of death of this man. It’s said to think that after making it to 107-year-old, it would be a barrage of bullets that would ultimately be your demise.
