Get a taste of that homegrown. 102.1fm KPRI hosted the homegrown showcase for local band Del Sol Project and several others Wednesday September 4, 2013 at The Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach.
After a roller coaster year of lineup changes, the long awaited debut full length from Del Sol dubbed 'Radio Sounds' was finally released to the public at The Belly Up. Recorded at Golden Track Studio in Escondido and the legendary Big Fish Studio in Encinitas, this finely tuned collection of 17 tunes was worth the wait. The crowd at The Belly Up was clearly into it, and there were plenty of lovely ladies dancing the night away.
Del Sol's blend of acoustic and electric sounds mix together in an eclectic array of songs that make every live show fun for any fan of rock music. This five piece features acoustic and electric guitars, bongos and drums, with some tambourine and other interesting sounds mixed in.
One of these days, the guys from Del Sol will get around to posting a couple more songs from the album to preview on the web, and have 'Radio Sounds' available to purchase through iTunes, CD Baby, or another online retailer. In the mean time, check out their web links for a taste of their sound with the song Let Me In. One of my personal favorite songs from Del Sol Project, Let Me In has all the band's talents on display. From the acoustic guitar lead in, to the electric guitar jam in the chorus, it's all the band's range packed into one epic track.
