A man who choked, punched and raped a teenager he kidnapped on Chicago's South Side is sentenced to 100-years in prison, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's office.

Keith Nelson, 27, carried out the savage assault on the 18-year-old victim on May 25, 2006.

The teen was standing near 72nd and Wabash when Nelson grabbed her and dragged her through an alley and into a backyard.  Once in the yard, prosecutors say he raped her. He choked and punched her throughout the assault.

The victim survived the attack with multiple injuries. DNA evidence from a rape kit linked Nelson to the attack in 2008 when he was arrested for two other sexual assaults.

Cook County Judge William Lacy sentenced Nelson to 25 years for each of three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. He gave Nelson another 25 years on the  one count of aggravated kidnapping.
