Celebrity nude pictures and videos were part of a massive hack due to an iCloud leak that allowed hackers to get at these very personal images stored on their phones. Some of the images were claimed to have been deleted off their phones long ago by celebs, so this appears to be one major endeavor on the hacker's part. Jennifer Lawrence is just one of the many celebrities whose images are now online and she has confirmed that the pictures are hers, according to Buzz Feed on Aug. 31.
Lawrence, who is infuriated, reports that she is feeling very violated, calling it a “flagrant violation of privacy.” She also said that the authorities have been contacted and they are ready to prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos.
CBS News today reports over 100 celebrities have been hacked for their photos or videos in this massive hacking event. The extent of the ordeal and the effect it will have on the celebrities when it comes to their careers is not known yet.
“Fox and Friends” talked about how pictures like this can sometimes hurt a career or boost a career. If a celeb from a kids’ show is revealed in the nude than this might be a problem for the network or producers of the show that the celeb appears in.
The photos first appeared on the /b/thread on 4chan. The nude and risqué photos include Kate Upton, Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande and more celebs, as seen on the above site. Ariana Grande is denying that these are her photos writing in an email to Buzz Feed, “The photos are completely fake.”
While the hackers have posted an enormous number of pictures of the many celebrities reportedly hacked, it is important to note that not all the pictures have been confirmed as authentic. It sounds as Jennifer Lawrence got the brunt of this hack with the culprits claiming they have 60 pictures and a two minute risque video of the “Hunger Games” Oscar-winning actress.
Many of Lawrence’s pictures are said to be “nude selfies” The 4chan user is “seemingly responsible” for the attack with rows of celebrity pictures and movies “yet to be released.
A master list with 101 celebrity names is making the rounds online. The list includes names such as Kim Kardashian, Mary Kate Olsen and Rihanna to name a few. This news must have the many celebrities waking up today mortified after reading that they are in some very revealing pictures online.
How did this happen? People think that they take personal pictures on their phone and it is for their eyes only, but not so said a computer expert on “Fox and Friends” live Monday Sept. 1. Even if you just snap a few nude photos of yourself on your phone to see what you look like and they are for your eyes only, if a hacker gets your password, those photos are now leaked. This goes for deleted photos too, actress Mary E Winstead's leaked photos in this massive hack were pictures that she had deleted a long time ago.
Mary E Winstead tweeted that she took some photos years ago with her husband, then she deleted them off her phone. Those pictures showed up in this massive release of hacked photos. Winstead tweets:
