As summer comes to a close, New Yorkers are eager to soak up the last of the warm, sunny days. And Brooklyn Bridge Park is the perfect place to do just that. So pack a picnic and blanket and watch a free movie or viewing of the US Open; bring a swimsuit for the kids so they can frolic at the Water Lab at Pier 6; take a free pilates class or go kayaking; or simply spend an afternoon or evening enjoying the scenic water and skyline views.

Here's a list of upcoming events at the family-friendly park.

Syfy Movies With A View: Monty Python & the Holy Grail
Thursday, August 28 | 6 pm
Monty Python and the Holy Grail won this year's Public Vote! The evening kicks off at the Harbor View Lawn at 6 pm, when DJ Hahn Solo performs. You can even park your bike for free with Transportation Alternatives when you arrive. Then the movie starts promptly at sundown.

Sunset Pilates

Wednesday, August 27 | 7 pm

Join Lou Cornacchia, founder of Cobble Hill's Body in Balance Studio, for an Intermediate Pilates Mat Class. Students will learn proper technique, core muscle strength, spinal alignment and shoulder stabilization.

Join a free public tour of this historic U.S. Navy vessel that was originally deployed during Vietnam and later used to train U.S. helicopter pilots.

Green Team

The Green Team, the park's dedicated volunteer corps, provides essential horticulture care for Brooklyn Bridge Park cevery week. The volunteers plant, mulch and remove invasive plants, and you can help, too. Register to become a volunteer.

Docent Tours
Sunday, August 31 | 12 pm
These free guided walking tours of the park are back by popular demand. The park's volunteer docents will teach you all you need to know about BBP's sustainable design and history.

Pilates with the Fitness Guru
Tuesday, September 2 | 7 pm
These Pilates Mat Classes with the Fitness Guru will teach you to properly activate the muscles of your abdomen and back to create an incredible amount of stability in your torso.

St. Francis Brooklyn Men's Soccer Game
