So the kids are out of school, and you're looking for things to do with them? Here are ten fun things to do with your kids over Spring Break.

1) Enroll them in a Spring Break Camp - It's not too late to enroll your kids in one of the spring break camps held in Gainesville. Some camps even allow you to enroll your kids just for the day if you prefer! Click here to see listings for all the Spring Break Camps in Gainesville.
2) Take them to Roger's Farm to pick strawberries for the day. Kids of all ages love exploring the rows and rows of strawberries and picking the juciest ones to eat and take home. Click here for more information.
3) Enjoy any of a variety of childrens classes and activities at The Little Shop in Haile Village Center. The Little Shop has a full schedule next week of fun classes for kids including a Magic Mike demo class, Pirate and Princess training, an American Girl Party and much more. Visit the website for more details.
4) Enjoy the nice weather and try a new outdoor activity like Letterboxing. Letterboxing involves searching for hidden boxes around Alahuca County and when you find them, you can stamp a book inside with your own personal stamp, and stamp your own person book with a stamp inside the box. Kids love this FREE activity - because it's so much like a treasure hunt.
5) Try out a new playground. Click here to see listings for all the playgrounds in Alachua County.
6) Go to the beach for the day! Here's a secret - many area beaches are packed with unsupervised high school students, making it not always the best atmosphere to bring your kids, BUT, Vilano Beach in St. Augustine, which is a little further north than Crescent Beach has little to no high schoolers. Last year the only beach visitors were families, and it wasn't packed at all.
7) Take a day trip! Tampa offers the Florida Aquarium, the Glazer Children's Museum and the Lowry Park Zoo. Jacksonville offers the Jacksonville Zoo, the Hands-on Children's Museum and the MOSI Science Museum. Wild Adventures in Valdosta Georgia is a ton of fun for kids of all ages, and of course, there's always the attractions in Orlando, but they tend to be really busy during spring break. Click here to see listings for popular destinations for day trips from Gainesville.
8) Visit the Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History. Kids will enjoy being surrounded by hundreds of flying butterflies. Make sure to pick up a laminted guide before you go through the doors. It's lots of fun to try to match the butterflies and flowers you see to the ones pictured on the guides.
9) If it rains, click here for a complete guide of places to play with kids on rainy days around Gainesville, including all the indoor playgrounds in the area.
10) Check out a kids movie! Over Spring Break, there are several G and PG rated movies out in theaters. Rango, Gnomeo and Juliet, Mars Needs Moms and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Have fun!
