In Preparation to Achieve Self-Improvement, set your mind at ease. Adjust to possibilities and assume the result. Be all you can be in whatever you do. I often see myself as somewhat content with my life the way things are, but of course it's hard to think of anything else when we are the real issues to be discussed. Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful. So we're all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn't even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks… or can you?
1. What is it that you really want?
This is the hardest question to ask one self. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day. Find something that you are good at can help you realize that small step towards your personal improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it. It might not be visible now, but assume that it is. What the mind can believe, the ability of self can achieve.
2. Why should I change?
Because if you don’t, you will be left Today's generation has taken another level of redefining “self” or at least that's what the kids are saying. Change is a behavior that takes effort on our part. It requires us to have the desire and the willingness to make it happen. If history has taught us one thing, it's the life that we have gone through that forces us to want change. When you know better, you do better. When you experience better, you seek better. It’s life! It’s yours! It requires your attention. I demand that you give yourself the benefit of your doubt!
3. What's the bright side in all of this?
There is always one. No matter how dark it looks at first. So much takes place in the world around us that there seems to be no room for even considering a light at the end of the tunnel. Good news!! There is. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. Whatever you find at the end, take it, us it and be inspired to create different. If it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round! You might get an awesome view of what it is you were meant to do.
4. What is my comfort with what I'm doing?
Are you competent in all areas? Is there room for improvement? There's always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot in our attire. It doesn't take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we'll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented. A life without excitement leads to stagnation. In order to see growth, you have to be willing to get uncomfortable. If you don’t have the guts, seek assistance from those who have done it before you or who want to do it with you.
5. Have I done enough to help improve myself?
You are responsible for self-improvement. Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you'll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing before. Taking risk allow you to get out of your comfort zone and realize your potential. Continue to work on what you can improve about yourself and watch how little the outside world affects you.
6. Are you happy where you are today?
Be honest!! It's an unfair question, so let there be an answer! You deserve one. You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. You want to have a better relationship. Well what are you doing to add to its success? Do you want to go back to school to learn a new trade? There is no longer an excuse for no time. Classes are offered in the evening and online. Find a way or make one and stop making excuses. The same goes with everyday life! Make the most of every occasion and every situation. Smile when you want to cry. Focus on the good things and improve the not so good. Choice is a powerful tool.
7. Am I attractive to others?
Are you getting looks, whistles, frowns or smiles? So maybe I don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean it’s not worth thinking about. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, lose weight, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit. No one will receive the rewards more than you. Especially if you are seeking to get better. It’s difficult to love others when you don’t love yourself. Be your biggest and greatest advocate for success.
8. Could I have more than what I have?
I suppose in this case there is no such thing as having too much or too little, but it's more realistic to analyze how badly you really need it. I'd like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it? Hard work does pay off. In due time that is… Most people are not willing to go that extra mile to get what they want. If given just a little taste of desire, one can be inspired to know that something better exist. The truth of the matter is, you deserve whatever you work for. If you give your all to achieve, then you are qualified to receive. Be kind and share your blessings. Fortunately, it comes back trifold.
9. How are you motivated?
Do you need someone to help you or is it an inner core thing? Figure it out… What motivates you? It's an answer you have to explore for yourself. We are not all motivated by the same fire. There are so many things that can make each and every one of us happy, but to choose one or the other may be the hardest part to acknowledge. It's not like you can't have just one serving of your favorite food in a buffet. You get the opportunity to go as much as you want. Why not just try it piece by piece? Explore and be adventurous.
10. What lights your fire?
Don’t hesitate to share. What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be. In order to realize that attaining something you desire may seem very difficult is like giving up even before you start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it's something that you really want to accomplish without hesitation.
