  • Citrus-they contain vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system and helps combat cancer. Best uses: Adding zest and juice to marinades, and to desserts

  • Garlic and Onions help you get well when you're sick (or a little “under the weather”). That's because they contain allicin, a natural antibiotic, and compounds that strengthen white blood cells to help fight infection. The best uses are: Practically everywhere! (except for sweet dishes and desserts)

  • Salmon-It's packed with healthy omega-3 fatty acids which reduce “bad” cholesterol, prevent coronary artery disease, lower blood pressure, improve circulation and promote weight loss. Best uses are: Oven-cooked, sliced on salads and pan-steamed with onions and garlic, then added to steamed rice. Heaven!
