There is a lot of interesting information at the museum about the history of Lynchburg including a great Civil War exhibit that will be open through early summer. Pizza Hut's lunch buffet is served Monday-Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm. Pizza Hut is located 2413 Memorial Avenue near the Lynchburg Public Library. You can't do pizza every day but a once in a while splurge never hurt anyone.
Bike Riding on the Blackwater Creek Bikeway is a great family activity that you can feel good about. You can enter the bikeway from the Langhorne Road Ed Page entrance and ride for miles across the connecting trails down to Percival's Island or to the Hollins Mill Tunnel. For those who aren't bike riders, it's a great walk too.

Picnic at Peaks View Park is a good way to spend some quality time together. Peaks View Park is located at 170 Ivy Creek Drive, off Wiggington Road. With play areas for bigger kids and younger kids, ball fields, tennis courts, and a disc golf course, you can't go wrong. Pack a lunch for after your fun activities and everyone will be happy.
Kids Kove is a great place for free fun with kids. Located in Thomas Road Baptist Church on Candlers Mountain Road, there are climbing and play areas for kids of all ages.
