At the Mid-Atlantic Congress, Sr. Caroline Cerveny, SSJ-TOSF walked through a list of free social media tools that could help in online WEB2.0 ministry.
- delicious.com a curated digital library, social bookmarking site
- Skype enables you to be at a meeting (even via smartphone, even if it's just to check in)
- Dropbox cloud based file sharing (up to 2 GB free and more possible with groups)
- Slideshare enables sharing of PowerPoint Presentations
- Wordle Word Cloud generator (others also available) Good for Visual Learners
- Google Forms Create online forms (i.e. survey, registration form,etc.)
- Geocaching GPS Treasure Hunting. Good for getting out and getting hands on.
- Voice Thread Similar to PowerPoint, but easier to create visual and audio timeline
- Google Docs Makes Docs portable (i.e. a Powerpoint or DTP program can be viewed without client computer needing the OS software).
- Glogster easy to create Mash-Ups (i.e. mutimedia pieces)
