Branson Lakes Area Convention and Visitors Bureau

Kansas City is a fun place to live. There are a lot of fun things in the Kansas City metro to occupy our time. We have the Crown Center, Legends Village, Zona Rosa, Schlitterbahn, The Royals and Chiefs, Cocoa Key water park, Worlds of Fun, Oceans of Fun, tons of theaters and some amazing food. Even amongst all of this amazement, there are still times when we want to get away and go on vacation. Only about 3 1/2 hours south is a great destination - Branson, Missouri.

Branson, for the most part, is a family friends place to be. It has been described as the "family version of Las Vegas." Even so, some attractions and shows are more equipped for families than others. Today let's explore some of those family friendly attractions and shows.

Dixie Stampede

Though Dixie Stampede is a little on the pricey side, the dinner and show are fabulous. Children ages 4+ cost $31.24 and up and adults cost $55.79 this splurge is worth it at least once. Sit back, relax and enjoy eating a hearty meal with your hands - yup! No silverware at this show. While you eat your 4 course meal you will watch an entertaining show where the North and the South battle it out in fun games and cool tricks. This show features all sorts of animals from horses to chickens and piglets. This show definitely entertains all age groups. You can read a thorough review here.

Titanic Museum

Sometimes the word museum may turn you off to bringing children. This is definitely false at the Titanic Museum. When you arrive at the Titanic you will receive a card with information about a passenger that was aboard the ship. Throughout the museum you may get to see pictures of your passenger and artifacts from their life. At the end you will discover if your passenger survived or not. There are really fun things to experience at the museum including sticking you hands in water as cold as it was that fateful night, touching an ice wall, climbing on decks at the angles of the sinking ship, feeling like you are walking outside on deck of the Titanic, videos about the events, pictures, voice recordings of survivors and so much more. This is an impressive stop in Branson and definitely worth the time and admission to experience it. You can read a thorough review here.
