10/365 A Year of Faces in Photography--Artist, Robert Paulmenn (Photos)

Today, I had the honor of sitting for artist, Robert Paulmenn's Drawing Class. In the photograph, Robert is wearing an orange baseball hat. During a break, he sits with a student, working with her on her technique. Robert Paulmenn's art is on exhibit at RiverSea Gallery and online at sites including: Zatista. His drawing class is held on Saturdays from 10-1:00 at Dots and Doodles in Astoria, Oregon. Robert maintains a studio in downtown Astoria, and can be found around town doing Plein Air art. Plein Air, which is French for Open Air, describes a school of art and artists that began in the 19th Century when new types of paint and portable easels allowed artists to go outdoors to paint. Robert's plein air art captures many of the historic places in and around Astoria.
