10,000 Tons of Black Ink in print

The online literary zine 10,000 Tons of Black Ink has announced the release of its 2009 print edition featuring the strongest pieces published through the website during the course of the year. The magazine will be celebrating the release of this new anthology, which sports a gorgeous black and white design on its cover (pictured to the right), with a party on February 11 at The Book Seller (4736-38 N. Lincoln Ave.) in Chicago from 7 to 9pm. The evening will feature readings from the publication, and will include a silent auction and raffle. Plus a special guest reading by Stephen Markley, author of Publish This Book, due out in March.

A silent auction will also take place during the evening with prizes that range from an Infuse Yoga Spa 4-pack class card, Northlight Theatre tickets for 2 and Chicago Fire opening night tickets for 2. Bidding on raffle items starts at $5-$10; raffle tickets are just $1.

While there is no set cover for the party, a $5 suggested donation at the door is encouraged, which includes one copy of the publication. The Book Cellar’s wine bar will be open during the evening, with a variety of coffee drinks, beverages, salads, and sandwiches available for purchase.

10,000 Tons of Black Ink strives to give voices to new and burgeoning literary artists who would normally not have the freedom to stretch their works to the limits of imagination and ingenuity. The online publication exists to encourage emerging writers across the globe to reveal the splendor of their uninhibited creativity, and to share the product of this expression with a diverse audience. Our annual “Best Of” print edition features the strongest pieces published online during the course of the year.
