In a statement released today, WorldNetDaily Editor and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Farah says he is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can prove he or she was present at the birth of Barack Obama – and he's asking Americans to donate to the cause in hopes of raising the bounty to an irresistible amount.
"Barack Obama claims to have been born in Honolulu Aug. 4, 1961," explains Farah.
"His entire constitutional claim to the presidency rests on this premise. Yet, he refuses to release a copy of his long-form birth certificate – the only document that could possibly corroborate his claim. Therefore, in the interest of truth, justice and the Constitution, I am making the extraordinary offer to entice someone to come forward with the facts of his birth – whether it took place in Hawaii or elsewhere."
The “birther” movement has been a niche the political right wing, has attempted to overturn the results of November’s election by proving that President Obama is ineligible to serve. It also fuels Obama conspiracy theories surrounding his faith and true allegiance to Christianity and the United States. The statement includes a copy of Obama’s birth certificate appearing to disprove the underpinning of their cause. The “short form” Certification of Live Birth includes a statement "This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding.” The “birther” movement believes that only the long-form certificate provides valid proof of birth.
The statement continues:
"It is clear now that Obama will never willingly release his birth certificate," said Farah. "It's time for Americans who still value the Constitution to step up and force the issue. It's time for us to learn the truth of where Obama was born. We may find he was born in Hawaii. We may find he was born elsewhere. I have no pre-conceived ideas. But this issue has haunted the American people long enough. It's time for some truth and transparency."
To collect the reward, the subject must:
1. Agree to an interview with WND journalists;
2. Provide persuasive evidence, such as pictures, documents or verifiable details;
3. Agree to a polygraph test.
"I think it's disgraceful that Americans should be forced to go to such lengths by the intransigence of public officials toward accountability," said Farah. "But that is what it has come to in 2009 with our current president. He prefers to dodge and weave, while his apologists in government and media viciously attack citizens for attempting to see that the Constitution is observed."

Now it will get somewhere. I've said all along that in order to get people to come forward, you must appeal to their innate greed. But I doubt anyone will come forward. There needs to be a reward for anyone who can say they were there in Mombasa when he was born there. Or that they knew for a fact that he was carrying an Indonesian passport for a while etc. etc.
A cool Million may open someones mouth but the ad and billboards must be in Kenya to get a witness.

I read about Joseph Farah. He's Lebanese/Syrian Muslim, but I've never seen his citizenship papers. He could have been sent here as a child to destroy America from within with his "conservative" magazine.

obama's grandmother was asked leading questions through a translator and when the MISUNDERSTANDING was cleared up, she clearly denied he was born there. (people who perpetrate this conspiracy theory offer no evidence of this insist there were 'handlers' there who forced her to retract her statement). This of course is further evidence of the hysteria and the created conspiracy, the untruths built on faulty assumptions and at times outright lies this whole tired story is based on. This whole conspiracy is manufactured. There is NO Indonesian passport or reason to think there was one, he left the US with a US passport(that is how you travel overseas you know). All his info is in the State dept., they keep records of all that, you know. When he traveled as a US Senator, he had a US passport, how do you think he got back into the country? (do you really think he got in with a foreign passport and no one noticed? come on now). Btw, you don't get an 'automatic passport' as a US Sen. Think.

Wrong on both counts. He hasn't "spent millions." And the "short form" is the ONLY birth certificate you can get.
You really ought to be a bit more skeptical of wshat you read on birther websites. They're making a fool of you.
Who would have been present at Obama's birth other than nurses and the doctor?
Joseph Farah knows no one will ever collect the reward because there's no reason anyone would remember the birth -- Obama was just another baby born that day 47 years ago, nothing memorable or remarkable about it.
(I'd be shocked if any nurses remember my daughter's birth in 1971.)

Obama is not a legal U.S. natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between December 24, 1952, to November 13, 1986. Federal Law requires that the office of President requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. Citizen parents. This is what exempts John McCain, though he was born in the US Panama Canal Zone. US Law very clearly states: ?. . . If only one parent is a U.S. Citizen at the time of one?s birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for minimum ten years, five of which must be after the age of 16.? Barack Obama?s father was not a U.S.Citizen is a fact. Obama?s mother was only 18 when Obama was born. This means even though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen of Hawaii being a territory), his mother fails the test for at-least-5-years- prior-to Barack Obama?s birth, but-after-age-16. In essence, Mother alone is not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizen

The birthers are not out to "overturn the election". Biden would become president should Obama be found ineligible. We only want a controlling legal authority to go on record affirming that Obama meets the Constitutional "natural born" requirements.
