One man was killed and another wounded in a double shooting that happened early Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in northwest Atlanta.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased man as Mr. Quatavious Morris, 23, of Atlanta.

The shootings happened around 12:35 a.m. at the Etheridge Court apartments at 2500 Center St., according to Atlanta police.

Officers responded to the scene after getting a call about shots fired, police spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon said.

“Upon arrival, the responding officer learned that two victims had been shot,” Sgt. Lyon said. “One victim was deceased inside a vehicle and another had fled the scene to a nearby fire station.”

Mr. Morris, who was found in the car, had two gunshot wounds to the back of the head and the second man had a gunshot wound to the arm, according to media reports.

The second victim, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, fled to the Atlanta Fire Rescue station No. 38, police said. He was then transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

So far, police have not released any details on the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting.

They also don’t have a suspect, Sgt. Lyon said.
