The Washington Wine Commission handed out its awards today to some of the top area restaurants that demonstrate a high level of support for Washington Wines.
Topping the list for its "tremendous enthusiasm and support" for more than two decades, Sun Mountain Lodge (Winthrop, WA) took home this year's top honor as Washington Wine Restaurant of the Year.
For the past 8 years the Commission has been honoring restaurants that exhibit strong support of Washington State wines and that practice and excel in high professional standards in wine service.
Other standouts taking home awards this year include:
Doug Zellers (Washington Athletic Club): The Walter Clore Honorarium award.
Eric Zegzula (Anthony's at Columbia Point - Richland, WA): Sommelier of the Year.
Ray's Boathouse - Seattle: Winemaker's Choice award.
Pearl Bar & Dining - Bellevue:Washington Restaurant Association award
Canlis Restaurant - Seattle: Seattle Business magazine award.
The Marc Restaurant, Marcus Whitman Hotel, Walla Walla, WA: Most Improved Wine Program of the Year
Taste of Tulalip, Tulalip Bay Exceptional Dining, Tulalip, WA: Best Restaurant Event Featuring Washington Wines
ENO, InterContinental Chicago, Chicago, IL: Best Out-of-State Washington Wine Program
The 8th Annual Washington Wine Restaurant Awards were handed out this afternoon at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, WA
